MILA'S FIRST ELECTION
Mila experienced her first election tonight! Of course she was curious as to what it was all about. The ladies running the show really got a kick out of Mila, and gave her an "I Voted" sticker. Well we are watching the election results as I write this, and it looks like it is going to be over quickly. As a matter of fact CNN just announced Obama the projected winner!!! We are very happy about this, especially as new parents.

ADVENTURES IN CRAWLING
Mila has become quite the little crawler. She is even pulling herself up on furniture and windowsills. Of course this has led to frequent head bumps, she usually cries for a short time and then goes right back to it. The biggest culprit has been our stairs. She can only stand on the floor and hold onto the first or second step, but somehow she manages to slip and bump her head. We need to figure out how we are going to gate them off.
TRICK-OR-TREAT
Well Halloween in Montana was actually warm this year. We thought it would be a great night for some trick-or-treating. We went to popular Yellowstone street with our friends Ashley, Shannon and their daughter Violet (she's 3 weeks younger than Mila). We had a great time, it was fun to watch the babies take in their first Halloween. Mila looked around like she had been transported to another planet, fascinated by all the costumes. I do have to say that I did not see another skunk as cute.

A WALK IN THE PARK
Sunday was a crisp and beautiful Fall day in Livingston, so we went for a walk to the dog park with Erika, Brian and the dogs. Mila was fussy in the Ergo carrier so Torsten carried her on his shoulders... she loved it as you can see.
It has been a wonderful Fall here. With the snow melted from the one snow storm we had, we have been enjoying the sun on our daily walks. Sometimes it seems like we go right from Summer to Winter in Montana, but this year we have actually had a Fall!
If you haven't heard the big news... Mila is crawling. She has really mastered it and motors all over now. She has even started to crawl up the stairs. She is beginning to pull herself up on things to stand, and I think walking will be right around the corner.
I heard several times how fast this stage would go, but I really can't believe Mila is nearly 8 months old! On one hand I miss the early days of her life, but on the other hand I can't wait to see her grow and reach more milestones. That's life!
Even though we can't swim in the river right now, and we didn't really get out on our boat this summer, it is still very enjoyable to spend time near the Yellowstone river. Montana is truly magnificent, and to any family our friends who have not come to visit... you must!
Come visit, not only to see Mila, but also experience the amazing place in which we live!

MILA'S BIG SNOWSTORM
Over the last few days we have received about two feet of snow in Livingston. This morning it finally stopped snowing, so we brought Mila out for a little sledding.
She was very interested in the snow, reaching out for it and trying to taste it.
She really got a kick out of going fast... I think we have a skier in the making
